Winners of the Bank of England Interest Rate Challenge
December 2, 2016
Aldenham’s ‘Target 2’ team beat off stiff competition to win the regional heat of the Bank of England Interest Rate Challenge and will now go through to the area finals in March 2017. Having beaten over 300 schools this means that the Aldenham team is one of the top 48 in the country.
The team had previously attended an all day economics conference in London and worked until 8.30pm finalising their presentation – the work for which started last year. At this week’s presentation at the Putteridge Bury Hotel, Luton the runners up were announced – Watford Grammar School for Girls, followed by the winners – Aldenham School.
Congratulations to all involved – your hard work has paid off!
L to R: Stephen McMahon, Ahilesh Ramesh, Mr Flindall, Reshmi Patel, Tom Yardley
Members of the team were Tom Yardley, Stephen McMahon, Reshmi Patel, and Ahilesh Ramesh, with Tom Ripper and Iana Ezrokh supporting them.
