CCF cadets passed muster at the Biennial Inspection

Aldenham School recently hosted the Biennial Inspection of the Combined Cadet Force    alongside partnership school Queens’ School, Bushey.

The school welcomed Col Simon Brown from the Royal Anglians as Inspecting Officer. This was an especially important day for the Army section in particular as it was the first time a Royal Anglian had visited Aldenham CCF, as they are Royal Anglian infantry cadets.

The inspection took place at midday on the Parade Sq, formed by both Army and RAF sections complete with Colour Party. After the parade inspection Colonel Browne, Contingent Commander Sqn Ldr Flindall, the Head of Queens’ Mr Morrell and other dignitaries inspected Cadets demonstrating their military proficiency in tasks such as field craft, self-reliance, drill and navigation.

The day was rounded off by a full-scale section attack on Top Field firing blank rounds and smoke grenades in order to assault and clear an enemy position with full ‘casevac’ simulation at the end – watched by the Year 8’s, staff and parents. A most memorable occasion for Aldenham CCF.

All ages were representing the music department with Martineau’s Choir performing lively versions of Personent Hodie […]
