Eco Day

Monday marked the first year 7 Eco Day at Aldenham. It was a wonderful success with students being able to partake in a variety of Eco related activities ranging from Bee Keeping, where keeper Debbie Rosario spoke about the importance of bees and even included having the students try some of her home-made honey, to Paper Making with Sue Woolnough, who works at Frogmore Paper Mill, who was able to speak to the students about the history of paper whilst also giving them the opportunity to make their own! Other activities included students using ‘recycled words’ from newspapers/magazines in order to create their own poems/short stories to students staging a courtroom drama where they acted as different sides of the argument of the earth being destroyed by humans. Overall, it was a great day with lots of student involvement and an amazing number of staff who went above and beyond to ensure the students had a fabulous day!
