Les Philosophes Garden Party

Les Philosophes enjoyed their traditional summer garden party in the Headmaster’s Garden and were blessed with beautiful weather to match the mood.

It was a lovely informal occasion with students and staff alike reading favourite poems, speeches and passages to the society followed by a buffet supper. The new student secretaries were announced for the next academic year; Zara Nimmo and Stefan Dezyk.

Les Philosophes is a sixth form society with membership a reward to those who achieve excellent exam results. Guest speakers are invited in once a month or so to talk on a wide variety of topics. This year, subjects have ranged from Einstein’s legacy and the relationship between science and religion to the Holocaust and Israeli-Palestinian crisis with exploration of Eurasia and the future of journalism covered as well.
