Watford Festival Winners, again!
March 17, 2020
Pupils from Aldenham Prep and Aldenham Senior School continue their run of success at the Watford Festival of Speech and Drama, getting double the number of awards in the preliminary round this year than ever before. These winners would normally go on to perform in the Finale competition at the Rickmansworth Watersmeet Theatre but sadly this has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 virus.
The chances are that our students would have once more gained many of the trophies and perhaps even overall shields due to the exceptionally high marks they had been awarded, many receiving an honours mark which is very rare.
Aldenham pupils compete in this event each year and also go on to take part in the North London Festival in May. Every year we have won at least one of the three overall prizes for individuals and groups in Watford and sometimes all three!
We are lucky to have such a talented bunch of students at Aldenham. Congratulations to all of them and special thanks to Drama teacher Mrs Scott for her excellent guidance and also to LAMDA teacher Ms Cole.
Geoff Berrisford, Clem McQuoid and Jack Vera won the Year 13 and Under group Anthology Shield along with Louis Thresher and Krish Menon
