The Aldenham Beck Music Competition is a Winner

Following a week of preliminary rounds, the finals of the Beck Music Competition were held in the Recital Room adjudicated by Mr Richard Osmond who is Director of Music at Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School.

Still only in Year 11, Bob He was awarded the Beck Music Competition Cup for his outstanding performance on piano of Chopin’s Waltz in E minor in the Senior section of the competition. This was a double for Bob, as he also won the solo performance section of the House Music Competition earlier in the year.

Congratulations to all competitors for an excellent evening’s music making, in particular the winners of each section: Hannah Cushion in the Juniors for her beautiful soft tone with lots of light and shade on the flute, Edie Sunman the Intermediate winner for amazing clean sound and spot on articulation on the piano and Toby Freeman for his excellent performance on guitar which showed beautiful control.
