Year 7 Pupils’ Concert for Parents
December 6, 2018
At the start of their school career at Aldenham Senior School all Year 7s are given the opportunity to have free group lessons on an orchestral instrument of their choice for the first term. After less than ten weeks of lessons they perform in front of family and friends at our annual Year 7 Music Festival. On Monday evening, parents, family, friends and staff were treated to a fantastic range of music groups: from forthright brass and woodwind ensembles to intricate harp duets and funky double basses. We were also lucky to enjoy virtuoso solo performances including those from our talented Music Scholars. The enthusiastic audience joined in with a lively Jingle Bells finale and great fun was had by all.
Hopefully some of our young musicians will now feel inspired to continue with their instrument so that we can look forward to hearing them play in one of our many ensembles in the future.
